Ray Ode

Ray Ode joined the Mandskorís baritone section in September of 2001, just in time to go to Pierre, SD, with the chorus to sing at the dedication of the Memorial to World War II Veterans.  It was one of the most moving experiences of his life.

When Ray retired from dairy farming, he found that he had a lot of time on his hands and his good friend John Nelson suggested that he join the Mandskor.  He will always be grateful for that suggestion.

Ray spent 50 years in the dairy business and had the good fortune to serve on both the
South Dakota American Dairy Assn. board and the South Dakota Dairy Council board.  Presently, he spends his time singing, with church activities and helping his son on the farm.

Bonnie, Rayís wife of 51 years worked side by side with him on the farm. In retirement, she is active with church, quilting and playing bridge..  She supports the Mandskor by being an active auxiliary member.   Ray and Bonnie have 3 children and 5 grandchildren.
