Terry Walter came to the Mandskor in 1989, as accompanist and became its conductor in 1996. She is a Freeman, SD native and graduated from Augustana College with a BA in Music Education and did graduate work at the University of IA, in saxophone performance. Terry was a school teacher for 17 years, teaching classroom music and elementary and high school band. A member of the Sioux Falls Municipal Band for many years, she has written over 50 band arrangements for that group and in 1982, wrote an arrangement for the SD Department of Tourism which was distributed to high schools around the state. |

She currently works with her husband, Don Cooper, in their property management business "Mi-Star Enterprises". She is an avid knitter and enjoys traveling, baking, exercising, consignment shopping and working with her private piano and woodwind students. As a footnote, we add that the Mandskor actually performed at Terry and Don’s wedding reception in 1990. |
